# Card won't add to Apple Wallet

If a shop's loyalty card won't go into Apple Wallet, the usual cause is the browser. Open the card link in Safari, tap Install in Apple Wallet and then Add.

The shop's loyalty card is in Apple Wallet on your iPhone.

**Who can do this:** Anyone with the shop's card link or QR code.

## Before you start

- An iPhone
- The card link or QR code from the shop

## Steps

### Step 1

Open the card link in **Safari**.

> Not inside Instagram, Facebook, Messenger or another app, and not in Chrome or Firefox: copy the link and paste it into Safari. The card can only be added from Safari. In another browser, the page says: "Please open this page in your Safari browser. The card can only be issued in Safari."

### Step 2

Fill in the form if the page asks for your details.

### Step 3

Tap **Install in Apple Wallet**, then wait for the file to download.

In the app: 'Install in Apple Wallet'

### Step 4

When the card preview opens, tap Add.

In the app: 'Add'

### Step 5

If the card didn't appear and the page shows **Try to add again** or **Can't find the card?**, tap it.

In the app: 'Try to add again' / 'Can't find the card?'

> Adding the same card again replaces it, so you won't end up with two.

## What you should see

The card appears in Apple Wallet on your iPhone.

## If something goes wrong

### The page says to open it in Safari

**Likely cause:** The link is open in another browser, or inside another app.

Copy the link, open **Safari**, paste the link and start again.

### The link downloads a file or nothing happens

**Likely cause:** Safari passes the card straight to Apple Wallet. Browsers built into other apps have to do that themselves, and often don't.

Copy the link and paste it into **Safari**. The guide 'Card link opens a file or does nothing' has more help.

### The Wallet app is missing

**Likely cause:** Wallet was deleted from the iPhone, or Screen Time restrictions block it.

Reinstall Wallet from the App Store. If it's blocked, check Screen Time › Content & Privacy Restrictions.

### Apple Wallet says "Cannot add pass"

**Likely cause:** The card file itself may be invalid, or its signing certificate may have expired. You can't fix this on your phone.

Contact the shop that gave you the card and tell them what you see.

## Need a person?

If Apple Wallet still says "Cannot add pass" in Safari, the problem is in the card itself, and only the business can fix it. Contact the shop that gave you the card. Customers can't use Loyaltymaster's in-app chat. If you run the business, you can contact Loyaltymaster support at any time.
