Scanner App User Guide: Digital Membership Cards

Overview

This guide explains how to set up and use the scanner app for managing membership cards in the Loyalty Master System. The app allows for point redemption and membership card management through both mobile devices and computer interfaces.

Initial Setup: Creating a Manager Account

Prerequisites

  • Access to the Loyalty Master System
  • Manager credentials

Step-by-Step Manager Creation

  1. Navigate to the sidebar and locate "Manager" near the bottom
  2. Click "Add Manager"
  3. Fill in the required fields:
    • Manager name
    • Email address (must be unique in the system)
    • Phone number
    • Password (minimum 8 characters)
  4. Optional: Select location/branch
  5. Click "Add Manager" to complete setup

Note: If you receive an "email already in use" error, choose a different email address.

Using the Scanner App

Access Options
URL for Scanner APP:

  • Computer browser interface
  • Smartphone installation
    • Opens as a Progressive Web App (PWA). 
    • Installation prompt appears automatically on mobile devices

Customer Identification Methods

  1. QR Code Scanning
    • Click the "Scan" button. Accept the Request to "Allow" access to the Smartphone camera.
    • Scan the QR code from loyalty/membership cards
  2. How to Manual Search
    • Click "Search Customers"
    • Search using any of these identifiers:
      • Member name
      • Cell phone number
      • Email address
      • Digital card Serial Number

Viewing Member Information

The system displays:

  • Profile picture. Use this to identify the member if necessary.
  • Wallet type (Example. Apple Wallet for iPhone users)
  • Remaining visits for the month
  • Membership details:
    • Expiration date
    • Membership start date
    • Current month's visit count
    • Serial number
    • Membership tier (e.g., Bronze membership)
    • Payment frequency. Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly

Processing Visits

  1. Select the member
  2. Click "Redeem"
  3. Enter amount if prompted (e.g., $40 US). You do not have to [Enter] an amount here if it is disabled in the Card Settings.
  4. Click "Proceed"
  5. Confirm successful transaction
  6. Verify updated visit count

Alternative Management Method

Computer Console Access in a Website browser.

  • Available as an alternative to the scanner app
  • Accessible through the main system
  • Provides same functionality for:
    • Member searches
    • Visit redemption
    • Membership management

Best Practices

  • Use smartphone access for faster processing
  • Keep member information up to date
  • Verify transaction success after each redemption
  • Monitor visit counts regularly
