Add a loyalty card to Google Wallet
Save a shop's loyalty card to Google Wallet on your Android phone, using the link or QR code the shop gave you. If your phone can't use Google Wallet, the shop may offer a home-screen card instead.
Not yet checked in the app. These steps come from a read-only review of the app screens.
On this page
The shop's loyalty card is saved in Google Wallet on your Android phone.
Who can do this: Anyone with the shop's card link or QR code and a Google account. No Loyaltymaster app needed.
Before you start
- An Android phone that can use Google Wallet: Android 9 or later, with Google Play services
- A Google account you're signed in to
- The card link or QR code from the shop
Steps
Step 1
Open the card link the shop gave you, or scan the shop's QR code with your phone.
Step 2
Make sure the page is open in Chrome, not inside Instagram, Facebook or another app.
Google blocks the sign-in it needs inside other apps' built-in browsers. Press and hold the link and open it in Chrome.
Step 3
Fill in the details the shop asks for, usually your first name, last name and Phone.
In the app: 'First name', 'Last name', 'Phone'
The shop chooses the fields. Use a phone number you'll keep: it's how your card is found again if you lose it.
Step 4
Tick the boxes to accept the terms.
Step 5
Tap Install in Google Wallet.
In the app: 'Install in Google Wallet'
The shop can switch this button off. If you don't see it, or your phone can't use Google Wallet, see 'Google Wallet isn't available on your phone' below.
Step 6
If Google asks, sign in to your Google account.
If Google Wallet isn't installed, you're asked to download it.
Step 7
Accept the terms Google shows you and confirm to save the card.
Step 8
Tap Open in Google Wallet to see your card.
In the app: 'Open in Google Wallet'
What you should see
The card is saved in Google Wallet on your phone. Open the Google Wallet app whenever you want to use it.
If something goes wrong
Install in Google Wallet does nothing inside Instagram or Facebook
Likely cause: Google blocks the sign-in it needs inside other apps' built-in browsers.
Press and hold the link and open it in Chrome, then tap Install in Google Wallet again.
Google Wallet isn't available on your phone
Likely cause: Google Wallet isn't available in every country. It needs Android 9 or later, current Google Play services and a Google account. It doesn't work in work profiles, and Huawei phones without Google services can't use it. This depends on Google and your phone, not on the shop.
Use the home-screen card instead:
- Open the shop's link in Chrome, or Samsung Internet on a Samsung phone.
- Look for Install on the Home screen. This button only appears if the shop switched it on.
- Tap Install on the Home screen.
- When asked "Enable push notifications?", tap Enable.
- Confirm when your browser asks to add the card to your home screen. On phones without Google services, such as Huawei, the browser may add a shortcut instead.
Don't see the button? Ask the shop that gave you the card to switch it on. Clearing your browser's data also removes a home-screen card; you can add it again from the shop's link.
You don't see Install in Google Wallet
Likely cause: The shop can switch off the Google Wallet button for its card.
Ask the shop that gave you the card. If your phone can't use Google Wallet anyway, see 'Google Wallet isn't available on your phone' above.
Need a person?
Only you can sign in to your Google account and confirm the card on your own phone. Whether Google Wallet works depends on Google and your phone, and only the shop can switch on the home-screen card. If you're stuck, contact the shop that gave you the card. Customers can't use Loyaltymaster's in-app chat. If you run the business, you can contact Loyaltymaster support at any time.
